Confliction, Affliction, Contradiction, Resolution (A Prayer for the Dreamers)

Confliction, Affliction, Contradiction, Resolution
(A Prayer for the Dreamers)

 Spiraling down,
With a poisonous frown,
And with a liar’s crown,
I slowly drown…

Thoughts imprison a tortured soul,
Who knew remaining silent could take such a toll?
Did you know that, my beloved dear,
You make the world stop with a single tear?
I would wipe it away, but am forced to pause,
Due to my nature, my resolution, my cause,
To never make things difficult, to always make you smile,
Even though it kills me, slowly, all the while,
The pain it brings is too much to bear,
For I now see that I will always care,
For you, for me,
For everything we used to be,
And what I hoped would someday be… our future

Heads Down, Thumbs Up (Heartbroken)

Heads down, Thumbs Up
(Heartbroken)

Am I just a joke to you?
Is that all this really is?
The friends I have are few,
So it’s so nice to see my pain as your bliss
So sit there and laugh,
It’s not like you care…
To you, I’m the sacrificial calf,
Your personal burden to bear,
That’s all I am,
And that’s all I’ll ever be…
Why did I believe this sham?
Why couldn’t I ever see?
The truth, the lies,
The useless alibies,
So here I sit, alone, cold, and emotions hidden,
With a smile to hide my true emotion: “pain-ridden”
And never again shall I believe
This childish fantasy:
“Us”

The Tears of those who were Left Behind

The Tears of those who were Left Behind

Not sure of how to feel,
Not sure when these wounds will heal.
I can’t help but feel betrayed,
Because I feel so burned and flayed,
Like a prisoner lost and scared,
Hanging on to every word we shared.
We are the best of friends,
But I’ve been following the trends,
I know there’ll never be anything between us,
So I don’t know why I fuss,
But a part of me still hangs on,
Still watching for that coming dawn,
When you notice how I’ve waited
Ever since you two dated,
I’ve told you everything but one little thing,
I’ve held it in, but now my head rings:

“I love you”

But we can never be

The Importance of Time-Management

Hello all, I know it has been a while since I have posted anything meaningful on this blog, school has simply been constraining my creativity for quite some time now... which leads into the point I shall make today. Time-Management. It is critical for all writers to plot out or at least set time aside to write or else... well... we wouldn't get anything done! Sadly, I have not been following this golden rule myself lately and have been letting the stressful situations of my life preside over the importance of taking time out of my day for myself to simply loosen up and let my mind work its magic. To all of those who are out there struggling to find the time to write or relax or whatever, make an oath to yourself today. Right now, in fact. Don't make any plans, push aside all possible distractions and simply take a few minutes to take a breather, if a writer dosen't take a break from all the stressful situations in life then he or she will not have the strength to write anything meaningful. Sometimes this works the opposite way as well, be sure not to write to the point where writing becomes a hassle over a blessing. Sometimes even the best of writers need to take a break from writing, no matter how silly that may sound. The point I'm trying to make here is that relaxation and Time-Management are two very important aspects to the concept of professional writing, keep hanging in there, and maybe today I'll follow my own example and get back to doing what I love most: writing. Cheers! - The Illusive Writer

Earth, Reborn

Hello to all, today, will share a poem that comes from the bottom of my heart. It is a poem I have poured my soul into, and I hope that it shows once you read it, enjoy - The Illusive Writer

Earth, Reborn
Paradise.
Sand whips around an Earth devoid of life and pleasure.
Water is formed, boundless, incomprehensible to measure.
Vegetation grows, quickly embracing the barren field.
Creatures then emerge, looking for one to whom they should yield.
Man is then formed, from dust and dirt, he’s created.
He was then given a wife, to which we’re all related.
There was then peace on the earth, but only for a time,
They were given everything, but it was traded for a dime.
It t’was knowledge, simply knowledge, both corrupting and so true,
That tempted Man and bought him for more than it t’was due.
And at that very moment, change came to history,
Man disobeyed his master, and charged on violently.
Creating, inventing, we humans were oh so wise,
Destroying, corrupting, we are our own demise.
We begin to hate everything, from nature to one another,
For what other reason could a man raise a sword against his brother?
For as much as we create, we destroy three times as more,
Our clouds are filled with smoke, what more does the future have in store?
It won’t be long before we decide that we are bored,
And with our hearts corrupted it breeds another war.
We shall tear down our forests, and force their inhabitants to yield.
It won’t be long before they turn into a barren field.
Our oceans will run dry, and they shall be impossible to measure.
Sand whips around an Earth devoid of life and pleasure.
Paradise?

Betrayal

Hello everyone, today I have decided to share with you all a poem of which is an allusion to the famous Shakespearean play: "Macbeth", I hope you all enjoy it - The Illusive Writer

Betrayal
Tonight, tonight, the grizzled warrior rides,
Tonight, tonight, the grizzled warrior dies.
Fly, young Fleance, for luck is not on your father’s side.
Fly, young Fleance, far from your dying father’s cries.
Murderers, three in all, shall claim young Banquo’s soul,
Murderers, three in all, shall pay sin’s mighty toll.
Macbeth doth revel at this news,
Macbeth doth know which path to choose.
The path of blood leads him astray,
The path of blood leads him away.
Thicker and thicker the plot doth grow,
Thicker and thicker the river of blood flows.
The witches doth laugh at Macbeth’s surmise,
The witches doth laugh at Macbeth’s demise.
For fate is a ship of which none can board
And those who live by the sword… die by the sword.

Into the Ethereal Mind

What else could I bring you wonderful people besides another poem written by me? Well, I guess I could bring a pie, but sadly I am too lazy to do so, so here is another poem - The Illusive Writer

Into the Ethereal Mind

Suppose if reality was merely a dream, or dreams were actually reality.
What would happen then?
What wonders would we see?
The pure thought of it all could even make the strongest of minds bend.
Would we even matter anymore,
If reality were a dream?
What would happen to all the promises we swore?
Or all the smiles that we have beamed?
And what would happen to Sin?
Or Angels for that matter?
Would we return to our kin,
And have our faiths be shattered?
What would happen to humans,
With our hearts of frailty?
Would we continue doing what we can,
Though fragments of imagination we be?
It frightens me to imagine,
A newfound world like this,
So let’s, throw this to the wind,
And let ignorance be bliss.
