The Hunger

I have another poem for you all, I hope you enjoy it. - The Illusive Writer

The Hunger
Ever-consuming,
All controlling,
Mind numbing,
Breath-taking.

Is this the end of me?
Was this all I’m meant to be?
A Shadow of Men’s thoughts?
A simple pawn, easily bought?
Why can’t I see that I don’t want this?
Why can’t I see that Ignorance isn’t bliss?
Instead it’s a hunger, a burning desire,
A dark and terrible forest, an all consuming briar.
It makes you think that nothing is real,
It makes you think that you can’t feel,
It makes you think that you can fly,
But instead it’s all a lie.
So take a word from me, and hold on to your heart,
Hold on to it tight, and never let it fall apart.

I'm Back! (And with a Poem)

Hello all, I have returned to the wonderful art of blogging, and to commemorate this joyous occasion, I will share with you a poem I have wirtten in my vast amounts of free time, I hope you all enjoy it! - The Illusive Writer

Destiny: A Memoriam

Three fifths pleasure,
Two fifths pain,
Life’s elusive treasure,
Is something never gained…
With a dash of hope,
And a pinch of doubt,
We try to cope,
But battle it out.
Our dreams give us wings,
And expect us to fly,
With that, our hearts sing,
Like a dove passing by.
But our sorrows surmount our glee,
And forever it will be,
A drifting memory.

Confidence: The Key to Success

The title says it all. Confidence is truly the key to success. I know from personal expieriance that I wouldn't be half the writer I am today if I didn't have faith that my own pieces were great. If you are not confident in your own original work then how can you expect others to enjoy it? Above all things write the book for yourself first, then craft it to the interests of like-minded individuals. If it's good enough for you, expect it to be good enough for everyone else as well. Never throw in the towel if you recieve a negative critique; just keep working at it until you get it right. Don't let anyone get you down, you are your own writer, go make something great! - The Illusive Writer

The Importance of Inspirations

Inspirations can come from just about everywhere. Friends, family, situations, occurances, querks, all of these can give you sensible ideas and plot-lines for a project or a piece you plan to work on. I mostly find that friends are one of the biggest sources of ideas in my novels, without them, I would be absolutely no where with my work. Having a shoulder to lean on can really help you gain confidence with your work or even help you gain new and unexplored ideas. Having a role model to look up to can also be a great inspiration to work off of. Place yourself in a situation you have read about or heard of, what would you do? How would you enhance your experience? The possibilities are infinite. Just remember to make the idea yours, don't draw to heavily on outside sources or you may accidentally plagerize another's hard work and creative talent. - The Illusive Writer
